Finito! Olive Garden Plans Fall Apart
After going through the approval process and getting the green light, plans to build an Olive Garden in Germantown have fallen by the wayside.

With all the rain this spring it's no surprise that things are getting a little muddy, and plans to build an Olive Garden in Germantown by the Menomonee Falls border are now stuck in the mud.Â
Patch on Tuesday confirmed rumors that Olive Garden plans had fallen by the wayside. Tara Gray, Olive Garden corporate spokesperson, said there are no plans to build in Germantown and issued a statement Tuesday.
"Olive Garden continues to grow, so our real estate teams are constantly looking for new sites across the country," Gray said. "We do not have any specific plans for a new location in the Germantown area at this time."Â

A Germantown planning department staffer also reaffirmed the fate of the Olive Garden project. She said all construction was put on a hold with the Italian restaurant franchise.Â
Menomonee Falls-based Continental 246 Fund proposed the substantial development in the current parking lot of Riversbend Golf Club on County Line Road in Germantown. Plans called for construction of a 7,660-square-foot Olive Garden and a 7,715-square-foot Buffalo Wild Wings adjacent to one another. The Riversbend clubhouse would be relocated to the north end of the property.

The project plan made it through the village's approval process, but it's now unclear what the fate of that development is. Construction was to begin in spring with a fall opening date. Tuesday's news does not address the fate of the Buffalo Wild Wings
Patch attempted to contact Continental throughout the day Tuesday, but was unable to connect with a representative who could speak to the future of that site. Patch will update the story if more information comes in later Tuesday.Â
