Flight For Life Called For July Fourth Car Accident
Fire fighters needed the Jaws of Life to remove a 42-year-old woman from a damaged vehicle Monday.

The Fourth of July holiday ended early for two families after a car accident sent one person to Froedert Hospital via Flight For Life on Monday.
At 2:57 p.m. the Menomonee Falls police and fire departments responded to a two-car accident at the corner of Main Street and Executive Parkway. A 43-year-old man driving a Saturn SL1 westbound along Main Street blew through a red light and struck a 42-year-old man driving a 1997 Oldsmobile with his 4-year-old daughter.
The man driving the Saturn had his 42-year-old wife and two teenage children in the car as well. Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey said firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life to get the woman out of the Saturn. She was transported to Froedtert Hostpial via Flight For Life.

Police Capt. Mark Waters said the woman’s injuries appeared more severe than they actually were once she arrived at the hospital. Her injuries were reported as minor.
The 43-year-old man driving the Oldsmobile suffered the worst injury out of all those involved, Waters said. The man had a broken left arm. All other passengers in both vehicles were transported to the hospital for other minor injuries.

Waters said the man drving the Saturn received a citation for violating the red light signal, and his wife also received a citation for not wearing a seatbelt.
