Kick That Christmas Tree to the Curb

The village will pick up Christmas trees until Jan. 22.

The holidays are over and it's time to take on a brand new 2012. However, that browning pine in the living is not only getting stale, but it's also fire hazard.

As a service to residents in the village, the Public Works Department will pick up trees until Jan. 22. Simply place the tree at the curb or edge of the street. However, be sure to remove all tinsel, ornaments and other decorations before discarding the tree.

Christmas wreaths are also not part of the pick-up program since they contain metal wiring and other hazardous materials.
