PHOTOS: Bike Safety Rally at Valley View

The Menomonee Falls Police Department stopped by Valley View to help elementary students learn the basics of bike safety before taking to the streets this summer.

Warmer weather is upon us and school is almost out. As a result, the sidewalks will soon fill with young bikers enjoying their time away from the books.

For Valley View fifth-grade teacher Andy Cerroni, the timing was perfect to team up with the Menomonee Falls Police Department and hold the school's second bike rally for safety Wednesday.

The day started with an all-school assembly starting in the morning. MFPD officers gave students tips on safe biking.

After the assembly third- through fifth-grade students took to the pavement and navigated an obstacle course set up throughout the parking lot. Children brought their own bikes and shared them with other students. Habush Habush & Rottier provided donated helmets for students to use.
