Pink Lemonade Salon is Moving, Expanding

You’ve certainly seen the closing signs as you pass by the Quilted Basket on Appleton Avenue in downtown Menomonee Falls.

Quilted Basket owner Ann Wanke is stepping away from the business due to health reasons, but her expansive shop downtown won’t be empty for long. Pink Lemonade Salon and Day Spa will move one block west and take over the spacious building atΒ N88W16653 Appleton Ave.Β in September.

The move will add just over 1,000-square-feet of space. Pink Lemonade will also grow from six to 10 hair stations, from two to four pedicure stations, from two Β to four manicure stations, and from three message tables to four. The services won’t change, but Pink Lemonade has quickly outgrown its location near Mill Street and Main Street.

β€œI don’t want to grow the shop to be enormous where I have some 70 employees because I like our homey feel. Business has been going well, and in business you strike it while it’s hot,” said owner Jamie Kolatzki. I need a little more room to expand into.”

The new space will also include more retail space and a larger waiting area for customers. Kolatzki said she would remodel the new location to suit the salon’s needs, as well.

β€œI have tons of cool plans, but I don’t tell a single soul about my plans. It’s all about the reveal,” Kolatzki said.Β  β€œWe’ll definitely put the Pink Lemonade flair in there.”

Koltazki is expecting a baby in November, so the Sept. 5 opening date in the new shop is set in stone. The salon will be closed for four days during the Labor Day weekend to transition. The September move will be the third time Kolatzki has moved her business within downtown Falls.

By the way, Kolatzki said they also hope to bring β€œEmily” with them. If you’ll remember, Pink Lemonade was a downtown business with one of the more chilling ghost stories.

β€œI’ll try to take her. I’ll call the ghost hunters to see if that’s possible,” Kolatzki joked
