Planet Fitness Closer to Opening in Menomonee Falls

The Menomonee Falls Village Board has approved plans for a 24-hour fitness center in the soon-to-be-remodeled Colonial Plaza.

Trustees approved plans for the Planet Fitness at a Village Board meeting this week, according to Menomonee Falls NOW. Before work can begin, however, the village's Commuity Development Authority first must reach a development agreement with Somerstone LLC, owner of the shopping center, NOW reports.

As Patch reported in May, Planet Fitness wants to open a franchise location in the 18,000-square-foot space currently occupied by the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army would relocate to a smaller space right next door.

The changes are part of Somerstone's $1 million plan to renovate the shopping center.
