Police Beat: Elderly Woman Causes Disturbance

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports.

A 63-year-old woman has been causing quite a disturbance for her neighbors in a senior apartment facility on the 6800 block of Northfield Drive.

Police went to her apartment at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a complaint about her behavior. The complaint said that for four of the five days before the police were called, the woman had been yelling, swearing, pounding, talking to herself, calling 911 and hanging up and being disruptive to other tenants in the building. According to the report, it appears the woman has some mental issues and drinks alcohol in excess.

Police have taken the woman into protective custody on another occasion regarding her behavior. The manager of the building has given the woman a five-day notice to vacate the apartment.

  • At 6:26 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a disabled vehicle call in the 8600 block of Pilgrim Road. The owner of the vehicle said a tow truck was on its way but gave officers permission to move the vehicle using the push-bar on a squad car. During the move, a large crack formed in the rear bumper of the man’s vehicle. Damage is estimated at $500. The tow company later removed the vehicle from traffic.
  • A 19-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she hit her 19-year-old boyfriend on the head with a wax candle. Police were called at 3:44 p.m. Thursday to the woman’s residence on the W13800 block of Fond Du Lace Avenue. The woman posted bond and completed the domestic violence paperwork.
  • A 120-pound black Labrador retreiver without a collar was found on the N7000 block of Northfield Drive at 3:36 p.m. Thursday. Police took the animal into custody and turned it over to the Humane Animal Welfare Society in Waukesha.
  • A Casino Crown novelty slot machine was found in a snow bank at the corner of Roosevelt Drive and Grand Avenue on Saturday. The slot machine, which had $1.56 in coins inside, was turned over to police and secured in an evidence locker.
  • Between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 9:19 a.m. Saturday, an unknown person broke the front window of the Sherwin Williams store at N85W16063 Appleton Ave. An investigation revealed that the damage was likely done with a BB gun or slingshot.
