Republicans Open Walker Campaign Office in Germantown
Several area lawmakers were on hand to rally the volunteers who packed the office Saturday.
Come Tuesday, the recall attempt of Gov. Scott Walker to be notched up to a new level as the signatures are submitted to the Government Accountability Board for counting and verification.
With that in mind, the Republican Party of Wisconsin is opening campaign offices around the state to support Walker in what is looking like an inevitable recall election.
On Saturday, lawmakers from around the state joined the Washington County Republican Party as they opened a “Victory Office” at W177N9886 Rivercrest Dr., which is just a few blocks north of the Menomonee Falls border.

U.S. Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner, State Assemblyman Dan Knodl, and State Senator Alberta Darling joined the opening celebration inside the cramped office, which will be the local point of contact for those wanting to participate in the recall election, and the upcoming presedential election.
“We’re on the national map folks. We’ve established a beachhead here in Wisconsin and we have to hold it,” Knodl said. “The national unions know we have pierced their special interest, and they don’t like that. We’ve gotten at their power base and have given that power back to the people of our state.”

On Friday, the offices on Rivercrest Drive will be filled with volunteers verifying the recall signatures when they are released by the GAB. The office will also be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily for volunteers to call voters, and distibute signs and buttons.
“We have to turn people out to the polls when the election takes place. We know that the other side is going to be highly organized and we have an uphill fight,” Sensenbrenner said. “Not only do they have the base of their labor union and teacher union sycophants leading the charge against us, but they will have all the names of people who signed a recall petition in a database.”
The Washington County Republicans plan to open another office Wednesday at 519 Hickory St. To inquire about volunteering at the Germantown office, contact Director Carly Nusser via email.
