WISCONSIN — A special election to fill the Wisconsin assembly seat left by Dan Knodl's election to the state senate has been scheduled for July, Governor Tony Evers announced Friday.

The 24th Assembly District ranges from the far northeast corner of Waukesha County and extends nearly up to Port Washington. The seat includes parts of Cedarburg plus Germantown. The special election comes after Knodl, a Republican, won a special election in April to fill the 8th District Wisconsin Senate Seat.

Knodl won the senate seat over Democrat Jodi Habush Sinykin, securing a supermajority for his party.
