State-Awarded Accounting Grant Allows Menomonee Falls Teachers to Boost Already Strong Business Program
Two MFHS teachers were recently awarded a grant they say will further students' accounting coursework.

MENOMONEE FALLS — Menomonee Falls High School has one of the strongest business departments in the state and its teachers and staff members' dedication is not going unnoticed.
Most recently, the Wisconsin Certified Public Accountants Educational Foundation awarded business teachers Sara Burling and Lisa Kiefer the Accounting Careers Awareness Grant for 2017.
“We are appreciative of the support that the WICPA continues to provide us as educators as well as the funding of the grants to provide our students with so many opportunities,” Burling said.

Every year more and more students choose to enter into the school’s Business Academy, join FBLA or make the decision to pursue a business-related major at a university or technical college. Burling and Keifer will, as a condition of receiving their grant, document projects and report back to the foundation.
“This grant is going to allow us to provide our advanced accounting students with the ability to analyze and interpret data utilizing advanced spreadsheet and database skills,” Kiefer said.
