March 8, 2022

Beginning on Friday, March 11th, load limit signs will be placed along Village roadways restricting heavy vehicle traffic in excess of 6 tons. The Village places weight restrictions on Village roadways in the spring of the year to limit damage to the pavement that can occur when frost and moisture are leaving the roadway sub-grade. During the period of posted load limit restrictions, all non-essential vehicles in excess of 6 tons will be prohibited from traveling on posted roadways. These vehicles include construction material delivery trucks, concrete trucks, landscaping trucks, dumpster transport trucks, etc. These weight limit restrictions will be enforced by the Police Department beginning on Monday, March 14th. Posted load limit restrictions will be removed at such time as the Village determines that the roadways have thawed and dried sufficiently to support these heavy vehicle loads (approximately 30-40 days).
