Milwaukee PD: Man In Critical Condition Following Apartment Fire
Police said the man fell asleep while smoking, causing the fire and displacement of several residents.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating an apartment fire that took place over the weekend.
The fire happened Sunday, Jan. 24 at approximately 10:30 p.m. along the 4400 block of N. 84th Street.
Police said a resident of the apartment complex fell asleep while smoking, causing the fire and displacement of several residents.

The resident who fell asleep is a 61-year-old Milwaukee man and was initially located pulseless and non-breathing, police said.
Lifesaving efforts by emergency medical personnel were able to bring a pulse back and the man was rushed to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
