KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — Thursday morning, Carthage College officials said they're extending spring break by one week, citing COVID-19 concerns. Carthage is located in northern Kenosha County just south of Racine County along Lake Michigan.

“This was a very difficult decision. Carthage has long prided itself on our small classes, hands-on learning, and supportive, in-person academic environment. We are committed to helping students complete their spring semester courses and meet graduation requirements,” Carthage College President, John Swallow said in an announcement.

Spring break will now continue through March 20. University officials said once spring break is over, the university will resume classes through remote teaching.
