Racine
The Racine-area YMCA branches will be closed as well, officials said.
"Like many of you, we have been closely following the spread of COVID-19. Based on information from trusted sources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Racine County Health Department, the Racine Family YMCA’s Riverside and Sealed Air Branches will be closed for a period of two weeks beginning Monday, March 16. All fitness activities, classes such as swimming lessons, school-age child care, and sports leagues will be suspended during this time. In addition, Adult Open Gym at the George Bray Neighborhood Branch will be cancelled," the YMCA said.
"We plan to reopen all of our branches on Monday, March 30. We will, however, evaluate the advisability of this plan using the latest information from the CDC and Racine County Health Department as a guide. In the interim, we will use this time to conduct routine maintenance and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting in our facilities, so they will be ready for you to enjoy when we reopen," YMCA CEO Jeff Collen wrote.
