Man Arrested After Slashing Relative With Butcher Knife: Sheriff

Sheriff's officials say the victim suffered a non-life-threatening laceration to his forehead and was treated at Ascension Hospital.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 63-year-old Union Grove man has been arrested and charged after authorities say he slashed a relative in the head with a butcher knife.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, Robert Moorehead is being held in the Racine County Jail. Authorities are recommending several charges in the case, including disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, and domestic violence-related charges.

Sheriff's officials say they were called to a Mill Ave. home in the Village of Union Grove just before 3 p.m. Monday after a woman called 911, saying that Moorehead cut a relative with a butcher knife resulting in the victim bleeding from his head.

Deputies reported they were able to direct the victim and the woman out of the residence to safety. Authorities say they were able to eventually arrest Moorehead while avoiding further injuries to anyone.
