Man Who Threatened Business Was Arrested With Explosives: Report

Racine County Sheriff's officials say they arrested Jakob Stolp after he threatened to "shoot up" a local business. He now awaits charges.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Racine County say they stopped a man who threatened to "shoot up" a local business in Burlington. According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, Jakob Stolp, 37, of the Town of Burlington, was arrested and faces multiple criminal charges.

Racine County Sheriff's officials say on March 31, they learned that Stolp threatened a local business. Sheriff's officials say they spoke with witnesses at the business, who reported that Stolp threatened to "shoot up the place" and use explosive devices. He also sent text messages to an employee that contained photos of firearms and threatening messages, witnesses told deputies.

According to the sheriff's office, Stolp was arrested on April 1 at his Town of Burlington home. Deputies said they found ammunition, 36 grams of marijuana, tannerite - an explosive target used for shooting practice, a fuse, and a threaded steel pipe.

Sheriff's officials said they questioned Stolp, who admitted he threatened the business and sent threatening messages.

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Computer message-threaten injury or harm
