Mount Pleasant Man Helps Bring the Laughs in Racine Show

Joseph Piirto offers his take on what to watch for -- and watch out for -- in Over Our Head Players' Theatre Schmeatre.

Joseph Piirto has been a longtime member of Over Our Head Players, and his involvement in the is no surprise.

He designed the sets, was responsible for the technical side of the show, is the stage manager and appears on stage in two of the sketches. Piirto took a few minutes to talk with Mount Pleasant Patch about some of the great things about this show, and to throw out one warning for anyone on the fence about whether to attend.

What's your favorite thing about the show?
It's always the cast. The connection between everybody in the cast. Each one becomes its own family. The core people are the same, but there's new people on the edges and it's like a new fmaily.

What's one hidden treasure audience members should watch for?
As far as any one thing in the show, I don't have my favorites. I mean, anybody who likes CSI will like our CSI. That's one of our strong new pieces. Everybody's going to laugh when they see Rich's face. He's always fun to work with, he's a very funny guy, the audiences love him.

Is there a warning label for this show?

I'd warn you tht if you like dull, kind of plain and uneventful, there just isn't going to be enough of that in this show. If you're really one of those boring-type people this isn't the show for you. If you're looking for a place to stay somber and serious, then stay away from here.
