• Officer-involved car crash: Motorist, police officers suffer non-life threatening injuries Jan. 12 (racinecountyeye.com) — Two Mount Pleasant police officers and another driver were hurt in a Monday night crash at Washington Avenue and Village Center Drive, but all injuries were described as non-life threatening. Because village officers were involved, Wisconsin State Patrol is handling the investigation and has not yet released the cause of the collision. 
• Microsoft says its $7.7B data center in Mount Pleasant will power the future and support the community (racinecountyeye.com) — Microsoft’s $7.7 billion Fairwater data center campus in Mount Pleasant is moving toward a 2026 opening, bringing hundreds of permanent jobs and thousands of construction roles while pledging no local tax breaks. Company president Brad Smith says Microsoft will pay full taxes, invest in workforce training with local partners, and limit water and energy impacts as part of a new “Community First” strategy piloted in Racine County.
• Photo gallery: Case students put their physics knowledge to the test with cardboard boats (racinecountyeye.com) — J.I. Case High School students in Mount Pleasant recently turned physics class into a hands-on challenge by building cardboard boats and testing them in the new RUSD Aquatic Center pool. Using concepts like buoyancy, Archimedes’ Principle, and density, teams tried to stay afloat and dry while classmates cheered them on in a splash-filled lesson.
