RACINE, WI — The Racine Volunteer Center is looking for students between 11 and 18 years old to fill a variety of volunteer positions this spring. Spring Volunteer Opportunities:

EZ ID (also through the Volunteer Center of Racine) is looking for youth volunteers to help. If a child or senior goes missing, EZ ID provides immediate, ready to disseminate information for the media and law enforcement. EZ ID includes 10 electronically scanned fingerprints, a digital photograph, streaming video, an audio file for voice recognition and a specific personal description, which is all saved on a CD (Compact Disc) EZ-ID will be needing help on March 16, 17 and April 1 and 2 from 4 p.m. -6 p.m. at the Cops n’ Kids Building – 800 Villa St. Racine. Training for EZ ID will be provided at the Volunteer Center of Racine and takes about an hour. Students do receive volunteer hours for training. Ages 11-18 are welcome to volunteer.

March 21 the Eco Fest is looking for youth to volunteer from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. The shifts run in two hour increments 9 am-11 am and 11 am-1 pm, or students can volunteer for the whole event. Students can volunteer for: welcome desk/info desk, door prizes and children activities. Eco Fest is looking for 4 youth volunteers at this time, ages 15-18. This event will take place at Gateway Technical College, Racine-1001 South Main St. Racine.

April 11 from 8:45 a.m. -12 p.m. Trail Clean Up at Caledonia Conservancy- 4813 5 mile Rd. Racine. Ages 13-18 can volunteer, and 10 volunteers are needed.

April 25 Assisting the Root River Council with river bank clean-up. Ages 15-18 can volunteer, and 8 volunteers are needed. Time and location are to be determined.

May 9 830 a.m. – 1230 p.m. assisting Owen Davies Park with garden clean up. Ages 11-18 can sign up and 8 volunteers are needed. This event will take place at 1829 West Blvd. Racine, WI 53405

May 16 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the Volunteer Center of Racine/Youth Volunteer Corp will be holding a Car Wash. The car wash will be free for RSVP Volunteers. The car wash is open to the public, with a $2 suggested donation for the car wash. All donations will go to the Youth Volunteer Corps. Ages 11-18 can volunteer, and 15-20 youth volunteers are needed. This event will also need 2-3 adult volunteers. The car wash will take place at Advanced Auto Parts- 5534 Washington Ave. Racine. WHAT: Come enjoy complimentary pizza, find out about the Youth Volunteer Corp’s Summer Service-Learning Camps, and sign up for your favorite! Up to 20 hours for credit or scholarships available per week! Parents and Guardians welcome! Sign up for Summer Camps does not open up until the commencement of this event.
