Sturtevant Man Guilty of Enticing a Child for Sex

Harold A. Prudhomme was caught in an undercover sting last year after he posted a Craigslist ad seeking a young girl to have sex with.

A Sturtevant man pleaded guilty to using a computer to facilitate a sex crime with a child.

Harold A. Prudhomme, 37, was caught by an undercover officer after he placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a young girl to have sex with, according to the original criminal complaint. An officer created the persona of a 14-year-old girl and responded to Prudhomme’s ad, which he replied to within minutes.

He told the "girl" he wanted to meet up at a movie theater and perform sexual acts with her under a coat in the theater so no one would notice them. After two failed attempts to meet Prudhomme, officers eventually met him on Jan. 29 at a coffee shop. Prudhomme showed up with three condoms in his jacket, and was immediately arrested by police.
