Beer Garden Series Will Raise Funds For New Berlin Recreation
New Berlin Recreation Department and Component Brewing Co. will host a series of beer gardens to raise money for a new rec center project.

NEW BERLIN, WI β New Berlin Recreation Department and Component Brewing Co. announced a new series of beer gardens to raise money for a future recreation center.
The organizations will host four beer gardens in New Berlin, with the first starting Friday at Malone Park, 16400 W. Al Stigler Parkway.
The beer gardens will introduce "Recreation(ale,)" an India pale ale brewed by Component Brewing, the recreation department said in a statement. The beer gardens will sell cans of the ale in four-packs, and $1 from every can sold will go to the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center project in the 15000 block of West National Avenue.

"We've worked with Component for our beer gardens for the last year and a half," Cross said. "They've been invested in the grassroots, local level that we've been looking for."
For those who don't drink alcohol, residents can go online or to City Hall to make donations or become sponsors. A sponsorship packet is available on the city's website.
Summer day camp staff will be on site to host games for kids while parents have adult time, Cross said.
Recreation(ale) is made with citra, mosaic, simcoe and cryo pop hops and is 4.8 percent alcohol by volume. It is available on tap at Component Brewing and in cans at the New Berlin Beer Gardens, the city said.
