Cooling Center At New Berlin Community Center Open Thursday
New Berlin is opening a cooling center for residents to charge their devices and stay cool as high temperatures continue.
NEW BERLIN, WI β The City of New Berlin is opening a cooling center Thursday after thousands of residents are left without power after severe storms.
The New Berlin Community Center will be open for residents to cool off and charge their electronics, the city said. Residents must bring their own charging cords.
The day will be mostly sunny and hot with highs near the 90s, the National Weather Service reported.

Here are some places to cool off in New Berlin during the excessive heat:
- New Berlin Community Center, 14750 W. Cleveland Ave. Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Hales Corners Wading Pool, 5765 S. New Berlin Road, Hales Corners. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- New Berlin Public Library, 15105 W. Library Lane. Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Southside Church of Christ, 1933 W. Grange Ave., Milwaukee Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Waukesha Schuetze Recreation Center, 1120 Baxter St., Waukesha. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
