Kids Can Design Cars At The New Berlin Soap Box Derby
The 56th annual derby will let kids between the ages of 6 and 17 design their own cars for a race in September.
NEW BERLIN, WI β New Berlin's soap box car track will host its 56th annual race in September.
The race will take place at Valley View Park, 5100 S. Small Road, at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 12.
Kids between the ages 6 and 17 can design, build and race their own cars down a 1,000-foot long, three lane, paved track, the event page said.

Cars are sponsored by local businesses, businesses and race fans from around the country, the page said.
Finalists in each class compete for trophies, great prizes and a chance to win the "Champion of Champions" award, the page said.

Racers can register online with their team name and parent name. Registrations close Aug. 21, the page said.
