New Berlin Community Band To Play Free Holiday Concert
The New Berlin Community Band is playing a free holiday concert on Dec. 10 at the New Berlin West Performing Arts Center.
NEW BERLIN, WI — The New Berlin Community Band, a group whose mission is to contribute to the community's musical environment, is planning on playing a free holiday concert in New Berlin on Dec. 10.
The band is hosting the concert at 7:30 p.m. at the New Berlin West Performing Arts Center located at 18695 Cleveland Avenue in New Berlin, according to an announcement from the City of New Berlin.
Darrell Brown directs the group's dozens of members. According to the band's website, Brown is also the director of a few music programs at Carroll University in Waukesha.

The band started in 1999 and has grown in many ways since then. The West Performing Arts Center has been the band's main performance venue since 2016, according to its website.
The non-profit organization works with the East Troy Community Band and hosts community outreach services such as a yearly scholarship awarded to a local high school band student, its website said. Performances from the band have popped up in numerous civic celebrations in New Berlin over time as well.

Veteran's Day and Memorial Day are just a couple of events you may have seen the band perform at. About 40 people volunteer for the group from throughout southeastern Wisconsin and the band's website says new members are always welcome.
