15th Annual Bug Day at Wehr Nature Center This Weekend

FRANKLIN, WI — The Wehr Nature Center is hosting their 15th-Annual Bug Day this weekend.
Visitors to bug day can visit the insect zoo, try some creepy crawly cuisine, dress like a bug, explore the bug discovery walk, meet a real entomologist & more. The event costs $3 per person, 2 and under free, plus $3.50 parking per vehicle.
Insects and invertebrates are a vital part of our eco-system. They are essential pollinators, decomposers, food for critters (and people), and so much more. This event celebrates bugs in all their forms.

Bug Day By The Numbers
- 60 live species on exhibit
- 1,000 mounted species on exhibit
- 650 bugs eaten at our Creepy Crawly Cuisine and "Bug Brownies"
- The Biggest Giant African Millipede (technically NOT an insect, it's an insect relative, but super cool. One foot in length.
- The Oldest Whip Scorpions will be on exhibit. They are found in the fossil record going back 300 million years.
- The Deadliest... Tiger Mosquito's spread Dengue, Yellow Fever, and Zika resulting in 250,000 deaths world wide annually. Don't worry, our Tiger Mosquito's are clean.
