Accident at Nicholson/Highway 100 Injures Two

Both drivers were hurt last week when a woman went through a red light, according to a police report.

A 25-year-old woman went through a red light at Highway 100 and S. Nicholson Road and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman, injuring both drivers, according to .

According to a police report, the 25-year-old was eastbound on Highway 100 about 7:45 a.m. July 2 when she went through the intersection on a red light and struck the 58-year-old's vehicle, which was northbound on Nicholson.

The 58-year-old woman was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with arm pain. The 25-year-old had pain in her right wrist and chin and neck area, but declined medical transport.

The 25-year-old was to be mailed a citation for running a red light.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
