Alleged Drunken Driver Crashes On College Ave.

A man with a blood-alcohol content approaching four times the legal limit to drive was arrested Jan. 28 following a crash on College Avenue.

According to a police report:

Officers responding to an accident at 12:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of E. College Ave. found a vehicle partially in the median and a 55-year-old Greenfield man in the driver's seat. The engine was still running and the vehicle was in drive.

A 911 caller told Oak Creek dispatchers the man possibly suffered a heart attack because he could barely speak. However, as Oak Creek paramedics placed him in an ambulance, they detected a strong odor of intoxicants and realized there were no medical or health concerns.

The man, who had troubling standing and walking, admitted to officers he had too much to drink. He registered a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .29 and was arrested. His car was towed from the scene.
