• Oak Creek fatal shooting; 1 dead, police investigate (fox6now.com) — A person was killed in a Tuesday morning shooting at an apartment complex near South 20th Street and College Avenue in Oak Creek, drawing a large police response and hours-long investigation. Neighbors reported hearing dozens of gunshots and seeing a heavy law enforcement presence, including state patrol. Police say the incident appears isolated, with no suspects in custody and no immediate danger to the wider community. 
• First responders in Milwaukee, Madison see success in first year of whole blood transfusion initiative (wpr.org) — Oak Creek firefighters are now among seven Milwaukee County departments carrying whole blood on emergency calls, giving trauma patients transfusions before they even reach the hospital. In the program’s first year, more than 100 patients statewide have received pre-hospital blood, including dozens in Milwaukee County, with officials saying the faster treatment is already improving survival chances after crashes, gunshot wounds, and other severe bleeding.
