Bender Park Shooter Arrested After He Was Stunned: Report

According to police call logs, after the situation escalated, the man was stunned with a Taser and then taken into custody.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say one man has been arrested after firing two gunshots off at Bender Park, but not before he had to be stunned with a Taser in order to be taken into custody.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers responded to Bender Park at just after 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 on a report that two gunshots had been fired by someone at the park.

Police said they responded to the park, and were flagged down by a person who was in his vehicle. Police said the man, without being questioned, said he didn't hear anything, and then told police that he was going to kill himself.

Police say they found a revolver on the seat next to the man. When police investigated, they found that the gun was missing two bullets, and found two empty bullet casings on the rear passenger floor of the vehicle.

Police say the man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, endangering safety by reckless use of a firearm while intoxicated and carrying a concealed weapon without a concealed carry permit.
