County Board Endorses Resolution For Lake Parkway Extension
On a 17-1 vote, the Milwaukee County Board asks the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to add the project to its transportation plan.

The Milwaukee County Board on Thursday approved a resolution asking that an extension of the Lake Parkway through Oak Creek be added to a regional transportation plan for southeastern Wisconsin.
Under a proposal, the Lake Parkway would be extended to Highway 100 in Oak Creek. County Supervisor Pat Jursik has said the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission adding the project to its regional transportation plan is a key step in making it eligible for federal funds.
The resolution also asks the state Department of Transportation then conduct preliminary engineering and environmental impact studies for the project.

Final approval and construction are still a long ways off, but so far and have largely favored the idea.
