Credit Card Thief Steals From Elderly Woman At Panera Bread: Cops

According to police, the woman determined her credit cards must have been stolen at the time she went to Panera.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say someone stole credit cards from an elderly woman dining at Panera Bread, and tried using them as fast as they could at the local Target store.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, an 80-year-old Oak Creek woman went to the Panera Bread at 8907 S. Howell Ave. for a meal, and mistakenly left her wallet there.

Call logs indicated the woman received a notice from her son later that day. Her son told her that someone tried charging more than $1,000 at the local Target store. The purchase was declined, her son said. At that moment, the woman searched for the cloth bag where she keeps her credit cards, only to find that it had gone missing.

According to police, she determined her credit cards must have been stolen at the time she went to Panera. Police are following-up in their investigation, and noted the woman had other identification cards in the cloth bag, in addition to $400 cash.
