Prison for St. Matthew Secretary Who Embezzled Money
Darlene Vodvarka was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison and five years of extended supervision in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

The former St. Matthew Parish secretary who embezzled more than $200,000 from the church has been sentenced to prison.
Darlene Vodvarka pleaded guilty to the embezzlment charges, and was sentenced today to three years in prison and five years extended superivison. She was also ordered to pay $250,000 in restitution to Catholic Mutual Group and $150,000 to Church.
in December with two counts of theft of more than $10,000. Investigators said she manipulated records connected with a church fundraising program and tuition payments from families, and pocketed the funds.

Vodvarka initially denied the allegations, but . She could have served as many as 10 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision.
Vodvarka is filed by St. Matthew against her and her husband. That case is still open in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
