Filing Deadline Thursday To Fill Aldermanic Vacancy In Oak Creek's 2nd District

The vacancy was created when Daniel Bukiewicz was recently appointed as mayor.

OAK CREEK - Due to the recent appointment of Daniel Bukiewicz as Mayor, who stepped in after former Mayor Steve Scaffidi left in the middle of his term to pursue a career in talk radio, the City of Oak Creek has a 2nd District Aldermanic vacancy.

The Common Council is choosing an Oak Creek resident to serve the remainder of the term, which expires in April 2018.

The filing deadline is 4 p.m. Thursday, April 6, and potential candidates must be an Oak Creek U.S. citizen living within the 2nd District boundaries and at least 18 years old. Those interested can submit a letter of interest, resume, and proof of citizenship to City of Oak Creek, Attn: City Clerk, 8040 S. 6th St., Oak Creek, WI 53154. Letters also can be dropped off in-person at the City Hall's customer service counter or at the Civic Center 24-hour drop box. The Common Council will interview all qualified applicants at a special meeting scheduled 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 10. The Council will choose a new alderman at the end of the meeting and the appointee will take office April 18.
