Test Your Wits at Oak Creek Public Library's Engaging Trivia Night Event (hoodline.com) — Oak Creek adults can sign up now for a team trivia night at the Oak Creek Public Library on Friday, Jan. 16, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Expect five rounds of questions, snacks, drinks, and music, with the top team earning a trophy and local gift card. Registration is required for teams of two to six players.
   

2. Wisconsin construction boom fueled by data centers (dailyreporter.com) — A major conversion of the Oak Creek Power Plant from coal to natural gas is planned as part of a broader statewide construction boom driven by data centers, highways, and new energy projects. The Oak Creek site will see years of work, billions in related investment, and thousands of construction jobs shared with nearby projects. Residents can expect long-term regional economic and infrastructure impacts.
   

3. Milwaukee County EMS blood transfusion program looks to expand (spectrumnews1.com) — Oak Creek firefighters are now among seven Milwaukee County departments carrying type O+ blood to perform life-saving transfusions before patients reach the hospital. In the program’s first year, 38 people, including four children, received pre-hospital transfusions, and county leaders plan to expand the effort so even more residents benefit from faster trauma care.
   

4. Wauwatosa West rises in area boys basketball rankings with team of the week nod (jsonline.com) — Oak Creek’s boys basketball team has climbed into the Milwaukee-area top 10, joining Arrowhead and Greendale in replacing Greenfield, New Berlin West and Milwaukee Academy of Science. The rankings highlight strong early-season performances across the region, including Wauwatosa West’s impressive run and key Greater Metro Conference showdowns coming up later this week.
