Oak Creek Fireworks Are Still On
Fourth of July festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the parade and end about 12 hours later with fireworks at East Middle School.
The Oak Creek fireworks will be held at dusk Wednesday under the watchful eye of the .
Because of the dry conditions, many communities were faced with a decision about whether to go forward with their July 4 display. Most are keeping theirs intact, but a few municipalities, such as Elm Grove, have postponed.
Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi said the city's fireworks will go on as scheduled near , 9330 S. Shepard Ave. He also urged residents not to set off their own fireworks, which are illegal in Oak Creek anyway but particularly dangerous now given the weather conditions.

Oak Creek's Fourth of July celebration at 9 a.m. at the corner of Groveland Drive and Shepard Avenue. It will wind its way west on Groveland, south on Knights Place past then down Mayhew Drive to Centennial Drive, before finally heading south on Shepard Avenue, ending at the . The Legion will host games and ice cream following the parade. The Larry Lynne Band will play in the lower Legion Hall from noon to 4 p.m. The Nashville Rejects then take the stage from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
