Girl In Road Arrested During Homecoming Festivities: Report

Police say several people came up to an officer during homecoming festivities warning a girl wouldn't get out of traffic on Puetz Road.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say a girl was taken into custody for her safety after an incident on Puetz Road during the high school's homecoming festivities.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, several people attending the Oct. 4 Oak Creek high school football game approached on officer who was on duty at the game, saying that a girl was standing in the road on E. Puetz and was shouting at her mother.

Police call logs indicate that the officer went out to the intersection and found the girl yelling profanities at her mother. The officer managed to get the girl out of the road, noting that as she left the road she continued to indicate that she was going to run back out into traffic.

According to police call logs, officers responded to the girl's house about an hour later. Police reported that the girl was taken into protective custody for her safety.
