According to a police report, Rickert was traveling northbound in the 6300 block of S. 27th St. about 12:20 p.m. Saturday when he rear-ended a car making a U-turn.

Rickert then got out of his truck and talked to the victim, according to a criminal complaint, but got back into his truck and drove off without providing any information.

A witness to the accident followed Rickert, who drove a couple blocks away, parked his truck and began walking to his residence on 39th Street in Greenfield, the complaint said.

When officers found him at home, he admitted to driving drunk, saying “I’m soaked and messed up” and he panicked after hitting the car, according to the complaint. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.23 at the time of the incident, which is nearly three times the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin.

Rickert is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $600 cash bond.
