Meijer Theft Suspects Caught With $1,000 In Random Stuff: Report

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say a 45-year-old Milwaukee man and a 20-year-old Delafield man have both been arrested and cited for retail theft after they were caught trying to steal more than $1,000 in goods from Meijer.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, an officer on patrol in the area at about 4 a.m. on Oct. 7 saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. The officer reported seeing a person with a shopping cart full of un-packaged items pull up to the car, and place all the items inside.

Police said the two men drove out of the lot, but were quickly pulled over by police. When the officer spoke with store security at Meijer, they confirmed that the items that the two men had were in fact stolen.

According to police call logs, the total value of the items was $1,080. Police said the 45-year-old was issued a warning for driving without registration. Police also said the 19 year old was arrested after he was found to have an open arrest warrant in Waukesha County for theft.
