Oak Creek Elementary Students Have Collected More Than 8,000 Food Items Midway Through Food Drive
As of Wednesday, the leader of the Big Food Bowl food drive was Deerfield Elementary, with more than 2,000 donations.

OAK CREEK - Students from all Oak Creek elementary schools have already donated more than 8,000 food items during the district's annual Big Food Bowl drive to end hunger in Oak Creek, with Deerfield Elementary leading with more than 2,000 items collected.
Items are being collected all week and Wednesday's total of 8,096 gives the students just two more days to surpass last year's total of nearly 15,000 items collected.

Students from Shepherd Hills Elementary School collected 169 items Tuesday night at Yo Fresh yogurt shop.

Schools participating from the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District and Wednesday totals are Carollton (824 items), Cedar Hills (663), Deerfield (2,051), Edgewood (1,968), Forest Ridge (953), Meadowview (607), and Shepherd Hills (1,010).
The food drive benefits food pantries at the Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church, The Salvation Army, All Saints Lutheran Church, and the St. Stephen's Family Life Center.

Georgie Porgie's burger and custard joint is offering a free scoop of custard to all children from the school that collects the most donations.
