Rampaging Man Went Through Pond, Tried Break-Ins: Report

A witness said the man was saying someone was chasing him and trying to shoot him.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say a man has been taken into custody for his own safety after he rampaged through a pond, and tried breaking into a house and a car during the morning of Oct. 20.

According to police call logs, the man was at the the Oak Creek Holiday Inn that morning, and was in a state of excited delirium. A witness told police he ran from the Holiday Inn over to the Econo Lodge, back to the Holiday Inn, and then into a water retention pond.

Police call logs indicated the man then tried getting into a Dodge Charger that was being driven down S. 13th Street.

According to police call logs, a woman on the 6600 block of S. 13th Street called police saying the man was reportedly trying to break into her house during the incident. The woman said the man was saying that someone was chasing him and trying to shoot him.

Police said they found the man at the Oak Creek Diner and took him into custody for his own safety.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers found a blue duffel bag that belonged to the suspect. Police said an officer found a clear plastic bag with six pie-shaped green and blue tablets inside the bag, which tested positive for Ecstacy. Police also found one gram of marijuana in the bag.
