U-Turn Leads to Four-Car Accident

A vehicle that stopped due to a car making a U-turn rear-ended a vehicle and caused a chain reaction Sunday on W. Rawson Avenue.

A car making a U-turn in the 2200 block of W. Rawson Ave. was the root cause of a four-car accident Sunday afternoon.

According to an report, an eastbound vehicle had to stop for a car waiting to make a U-turn from the eastbound lanes to the westbound lanes. That caused it to rear-end a vehicle, which led to a chain reaction involving two more vehicles, including the one making the U-turn.

A witness told police the car making the U-turn was stopped in a lane of traffic, instead of using the median, and did not use its left turn signal.
