A 34-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after swerving to miss an animal and hitting a tree in the 7600 block of S. 13th St. late Thursday afternoon. According to a police report, she was taken to Wheaton Franciscan after complaining of back, neck and head pain. Her vehicle sustained damage to the front-quarter panel and driver's side door. The woman was cited for suspended driver status and failure to maintain control of vehicle.
