Addition of Life Rings, Ladders Still a Lingering Cause
The Port Washington Common Council backs a plan to add the safety measures to the lakeshore, but wants a few particulars in order before moving forward.

City officials have added a couple caveats to the idea of adding life rings and new ladders to the breakwater.
The Port Washington Common Council applauded the placement of life rings and signs on beaches and the breakwater as well as repairing the ladders on the breakwater, according to an Ozaukee Press article, but want to have a "suitable inspection schedule," in place as well as an agreement to allow the installation with the Army Corp of Engineers before moving forward.
A water safety committee in the city has been working on fundraising for the venture, and has received donations including from the Great Lakes Sport Fishermen group.
The next council meeting is July 16, and the matter will be brought up again then.
