Hundreds Show Up in Blue, Green to Remember Tyler

Tyler Buczek, a 15-year-old Port Washington boy, went missing in Lake Michigan on Sunday and his body has yet to be found. Hundreds attended a candlelight vigil on Monday night in his memory.

Hundreds of flames flickered from on Monday night as friends and family of Port Washington's Tyler Buczek gathered to honor his memory.

The . Searches had lasted through Sunday evening and all day Monday, but his body has yet to be found.

"He was always funny, always telling jokes, always making us laugh," said Kaitlyne Matous — who is in the same grade as Buczek and attended the candlelight vigil.

Buczek was a quarterback for the school's freshman football team, and valedictorian of the eighth-grade class. He would have started high school on Tuesday.

A Facebook group asks Port High students to wear blue on Tuesday in Buczek's honor. The group had also dicussed wearing green — Buczek's favorite color — but may do that on Wednesday, according to posts in the Facebook event. They are also coordinating efforts to purchase bracelets that will remember Buczek.
