Local Legion Offers Proper Disposal of Flags

With the Fourth of July come and gone, you may find yourself tearing down those red, white and blue decorations and not knowing what to do with them.

If you've got a flag that you no longer plan to keep after the holiday — don't just throw it away. The Saukville American Legion Post 470 accepts old American flags for proper disposal, according to the village's newsletter. A receptacle is located outdoors, on the southeast corner of the American Legion building, 601 W. Dekora St. 

Unwanted flags placed in the receptacle will be burned during a proper service, according to the newsletter. Drop off any time, any day.
