Man Found on North Beach Claims He Collapsed There 2 Days Earlier
The Port Washington man said he had been out for a walk when he became sick and fell into the brush just north of the wastewater plant near the North Beach access point.

Police responded to a 911 call at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday after two people walking on the beach noticed a man crawling out of the bushes, calling for help.
Port Washington Police Chief Kevin Hingiss said the man had been in the brush just north of the wastewater plant. He told police he had been out for a walk two days earlier, and became sick.
"(He said he) threw up and became too weak that he couldn’t get himself off the beach," Hingiss said. Though the man said he was there for two days, the police have no way to confirm that at this time.
