No Challengers Surface for Saukville Village Board Spots

Three open positions on the Saukville Village Board will be filled by two incumbents and one newcomer next spring.

Three candidates — including two incumbents — have will be running for three open seats on the Saukville Village Board in the April 3 election.

Current board members Bob Hamann, 644 W. Briarknoll Rd., and Dan Sauer, 697 W. Dekora St., Unit E will take two spots, and newcomer Mike Gielow, 110 W. Friendship Ln., will fill the third position left vacant when former trustee Jen Schoenfeldt moved out of the village, village officials said.

The deadline for filing nomination papers for the board was 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Saukville trustee positions do not represent specific districts within the village, as is done in Port, but rather represent the village as a whole.

Trustees are paid a $1,000 stipend and also earn $2,280 stipend for meeting attendance. All members are allowed an excused absence from one regular meeting and one Finance Committee meeting before seeing deductions in pay of $85 per regular meeting missed, and $10 per finance meeting missed. Positions are two-year terms.
