Port Police Report: Resident Reports Drive-By Theft of Kid's Ball

There's really almost no words for this one.

A 25-year-old Port Washington woman called the at 7:08 p.m. Aug. 15 to report a stolen child's ball.

You see, the ball had rolled into the roadway, and an "older maroon" Pontiac Grand Prix missing a tail light, according to police reports, stopped in front of the woman's residence and snagged the ball.

That's more of a roll and tuck, it seems.

• Bad spot for paperwork, apparently: Police responded to the area of Grand and Maple streets at 1:32 p.m. Aug. 13 where someone in the street was yelling at someone else who was inside a car. Upon arrival, police found a 58-year-old Cedar Grove woman parked in her car finishing paperwork before heading to the bank. An 84-year-old Port woman had a problem with this because the Cedar Grove woman was parked in front of her house. ... Um, okay?
• It's not a microphone: Port Washington police spoke to a man in the 100 block of East Main Street who was carrying a traffic cone and yelling in it at 2:27 a.m. Saturday. Police told him to put the cone down and be quiet, and he complied.
• Creeper: A man was spoken to and warned after a complaint was received that he had approached a juvenile female subject in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue and asked her a number of personal questions.
