Four drunken drivers were arrested by Shorewood police last week.

Here is a summary of the incidents, which spanned March 26 through March 29:

  • Police found a blue marijuana pipe and grinder as they arrested a 24-year-old Shorewood man for third offense drunken driving March 26. At 2:05 a.m., police pulled over the man for non-registration in the 1500 block of East Kensington Boulevard. Police say they could smell alcohol on his breath and conducted on-scene sobriety tests, which the man failed. Police are awaiting the results of a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content at the time of the arrest. The pipe and grinder tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, according to police.
  • A 29-year-old Glendale man was arrested for his third operating while intoxicated incident March 28, after police pulled him over for driving without headlights and defective license plate lamps. The traffic stop occurred at 2:23 a.m. in the 3900 block of North Frederick Avenue, at which point police say the man was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol. The man was uncooperative and refused to participate in sobriety tests and refused to submit to a Breathalyzer.  Police are awaiting the results of a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content at the time of the incident.
  • A 32-year-old Milwaukee man, initially pulled over March 29 for operating after suspension, was arrested for his first drunken driving offense. At 4:16 a.m., police conducted the traffic stop in the 1400 block of East Elmdale Court. After police smelled alcohol on the suspect, they conducted field sobriety tests, which the man failed. He registered a 0.12 blood alcohol content during a Breathalyzer. He was also cited for operating after suspension and expired registration.
  • A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving March 27 after a traffic stop for speeding. Police conducted a traffic stop in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:21 a.m., where they say the man smelled of alcohol. The man failed sobriety tests and registered a 0.18 blood alcohol content during a Breathalyzer.
