• Shorewood Conservation Committee Advises Eco-Friendly Ice Management in Wisconsin (hoodline.com) — Shorewood residents are being urged by the Village’s Conservation Committee to cut back on road salt this winter to protect local lakes, rivers, pets, and landscaping. The village recommends shoveling early and often, using only a coffee cup of salt for typical walkways, sweeping up leftover salt, and switching to sand or calcium chloride products when temperatures drop below 15 degrees.
